How to fix the warning, "at-spi-registryd.desktop not responding" on Linux Mint

In Mate Desktops, sometimes when we have updated our operating system, and we want to restart the Computer, we receive a Window with this warning at-spi-registryd.desktop - Not responding, here I will tell how to solve this problem.

This problem can happen in all Linux Distributions that we have Mate installed when we have updated our operating system, and we want to turn off the computer, it can ever happen that we receive this notice,

window want where the problem it is

at-spi-registryd, It is only necessary if you use a screen reader or support applications of some kind. If you do not use any of these applications, you can disconnect it. I write Two options to do this.

1 Disconnect it, so it doesn't start when you start the computer

Click above on the table where it says System + Preferences + Personal + Startup Applications .

window to show where is Startup Applications

Disconnect it, so it doesn't start, when you start the computer, click, where it says, AT-SPI

it to say where doing to disconnect

And in case you ever need it, you click again.

2 Disconnect it, so it doesn't start, when you start the computer but written on a console

Change the access permissions of file system, with chmod.

sudo chmod a-x /usr/lib/at-spi2-core/at-spi2-registryd

Start you Computer

sudo reboot

If you want to connect again, we change the symbol -x by +x .

sudo chmod a+x /usr/lib/at-spi2-core/at-spi2-registryd

Start you Computer

sudo reboot
